This year Clapsaddle-Garber Associates celebrates it's first half-century of business.  In 1959 CGA opened its doors in Conrad, Iowa as Clapsaddle Engineering by Jack Clapsaddle, an ISU graduate in civil engineering and a licensed Professional Engineer.

Clapsaddle-Garber Associates

Clapsaddle-Garber Associates is a consulting firm providing services in civil engineering, land surveying, cartography, landscape architecture, right of way acquisition, and laboratory and field testing. CGA, headquartered in Marshalltown, Iowa, was founded in 1959. Since that date, we have consistently grown and developed a record of engineering excellence and dependability.  The firm provides a broad range of services to governmental, industrial, and private clients in various disciplines of engineering, planning, and land surveying.

Civil engineering includes planning, design, and development of drainage systems, residential and industrial subdivisions, airports, and project financing.  Transportation engineering includes planning, design, and construction of airports, highways, streets, and parking systems.  Land surveying includes the establishment of right of way easements, boundaries and plat preparations, and staking for construction projects.  Cartography services include city maps, plats and site layout plans.  Right of Way services include land acquisition design and negotiations, relocation assistance, and title and closing.  Construction observation includes checking compliance of the construction plans and specifications.  The laboratory is maintained for soil density testing and testing of portland cement concrete beams and cylinders.  Field testing includes soil density testing, concrete air and slump tests.

CGA maintains fully equipped field crews and office staff for the gathering of technical information and for producing completed plans and specifications.  Construction observation by qualified technicians is also provided.  A continuing education program is maintained to keep all personnel informed and up to date on the latest in engineering techniques.
