Clapsaddle-Garber Associates
Clapsaddle-Garber Associates is a consulting firm
providing services in civil engineering, land surveying,
cartography, right of way acquisition, and laboratory and
field testing. CGA, headquartered in Marshalltown, Iowa, was
founded in 1959. Since that date, we have consistently grown
and developed a record of engineering excellence and
dependability. The firm provides a broad range of
services to governmental, industrial, and private clients in
various disciplines of engineering, planning, and land
surveying.
Civil engineering includes planning, design, and
development of drainage systems, residential and industrial
subdivisions, airports, and project financing.
Transportation engineering includes planning, design, and
construction of airports, highways, streets, recreational
trails, and parking systems. Land surveying includes
collection of topography and site features, the
establishment of right of way easements, boundaries and plat
preparations, and staking for construction projects.
Cartography services include city maps, plats and site
layout plans. Right of Way services include land
acquisition design and negotiations, relocation assistance,
and title and closing. Landscape architecture services
include site planning and green design projects.
Construction observation includes checking compliance of the
construction plans and specifications. Laboratory and
field testing services include soil density testing and
testing of portland cement concrete beams and cylinders, and
concrete air and slump tests.
CGA maintains fully equipped field crews and office staff
for the gathering of technical information and for producing
completed plans and specifications. Construction
observation by qualified technicians and laboratory testing
is also provided. A continuing education program is
maintained to keep all personnel informed and up to date on
the latest in engineering techniques.

CGA
began its relationship with Grinnell College completing construction
staking for the Harris Center on the north side of campus in 1989.
Since then CGA has performed nine surveys, seven site designs, and
multiple campus map updates.
