Highway 14/South Center Street - MarshalltownCGA was selected by the City of Marshalltown to provide professional services in association with the upgrading of Iowa Highway 14/South Center Street in Marshalltown, Iowa. The project consisted of the design and reconstruction of two miles of five-lane roadway. The project consisted of four divisions: Division 1 - One mile of construction of storm sewer, fill in ditches, addition of sidewalks, addition of a 2.5 foot curb and gutter unit to both sides of street, mill the existing asphalt surface, full depth patches, and an asphalt overlay. All side road intersections were reconstructed and all of the driveways were paved. Division 2 - A 70 foot reinforced concrete box extension. Division 3 - 0.68 miles of ACC milling, full depth patches, and ACC resurfacing. Division 4 - 0.98 miles of ACC trail along the east side. All work done under traffic, one lane in each direction of the four-lane highway was maintained at all times. This stretch of Highway 14 carries over 22,000 vehicles each day.
