Iowa Falls 65/20 Gateway Project

Design services for approximately 1.5 miles of U.S. Highway 65/20 in Iowa falls, Iowa were completed by CGA prior to an early 2002 Iowa Department of Transportation letting. The existing four lane roadway was reconfigured to 3 lanes with a center left turn lane after a full HMA resurfacing. Five protected right lanes were added at key intersection locations to maintain expected levels of service along the project corridor. An eight foot wide HMA pedestrian/bike path along the east side of the highway along with storm sewer and traffic signalization improvements were also incorporated into the project design. The project had federal, state and local funding sources and was, therefore, a joint effort between IDOT and the City of Iowa Falls.
