Village Cooperative

CGA has performed design, surveying, and inspection services in the southwest corner of Marshalltown on many projects for the last few decades.  And now another new development, with CGA assistance, will rise on the landscape.

In the fall of 2007, Village Cooperative acquired a 4.12 acre site along Hibbs Boulevard in Marshalltown to create a 50 unit senior living facility.  CGA is providing civil engineering services for this project, as well as the City's facilities in the neighborhood.

The Village Cooperative facility will include a three story building with a 25,000 square foot footprint, under-building heated parking, 32-space outside parking, street-adjacent sidewalks as well as recreational walks around the building, outdoor planting areas, and a park-like setting.  A detention basin will be created for the property's stormwater runoff, able to hold a 100-year storm before releasing to City utilities.  The building broke ground in July 2008.

CGA provided land survey, site design, construction staking, and inspection of City infrastructure on this project.  CGA has also provided design for the grading; paving of street, curb and gutter, and sidewalk; watermain, storm sewer; and sanitary sewer for the extension of Hibbs Boulevard from the previous stub at Knollway Drive westward to South 12th Street.  This construction encompasses the area adjacent to Village Cooperative, as well as enabling for future development.
