Brentwood Place Rebuild

The Brentwood Place rebuild consisted of complete removal, subgrade remediation, and construction of a residential street.  The existing roadway was failing in several areas due to large voids developing under the pavement, causing a danger to public safety.

Besides typical street design, a storm sewer system was also included, as well as street subdrain, in order to decrease the amount of storm water runoff entering the roadway subgrade.  During construction additional groundwater was encountered, requiring the installation of additional subdrain in order to cut off this subsurface flow and maintain subgrade integrity.

Special concerns included the phasing of construction to allow for residential access.  The project was split into two phases, with the first phase being opened to traffic before commencing with the second phase.  Temporary pedestrian access was provided during this time period.
