This project consisted of the rehabilitation of storm and sanitary sewer through portions of downtown Story City, as well as two residential neighborhoods. Over 700 feet of sanitary sewer was installed, and over 1,100 feet of storm sewer was installed in the summer of 2010. Construction included replacement and/or addition of manholes and intakes as well. The project was funded through the State IJOBS program.
Before construction, interested businesses and residents along the construction route with limited access were notified of the work to take place. Project staging was designed to reduce disruption to the traffic flow in the construction areas, most important for businesses with delivery truck traffic.
