Clapsaddle-Garber Associates, Inc. conducted a survey of agencies providing water and sanitary sewer services in surrounding Iowa counties. A questionnaire was mailed to 289 cities in 28 counties. We received 112 responses. Communities surveyed ranged in size from Vining, Iowa, with a population of 50 to Waterloo, Iowa, with a population of 68,406. The results were emailed to participating agencies; if you did not receive your copy, or if you’d like to request a copy, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
Tables are included with alphabetical listings of the respondents along with their numerical values for population, monthly minimum; 3,000, 5,000, 10,000, and 100,000 gallons of water or sewer used per month.
A table of the summary of the results from this year, as well as the 2019 results, are also presented. For example, for water use of 5,000 gallons per month, the water varied from $10.50 for a low to a high of $83.71; the average was $39.37, and the median or middle value was $37.80.
