Rita Joens, the Receptionist out of the CGA Marshalltown office, believes Communication is a very important core value.
Rita is in a unique position. She runs the “switchboard” for the phones, but she also has her finger on the pulse of the company. If you know Rita, you know she is a good listener, which is an important communication skill. As she listens she works on deciphering the whole picture. This helps her to sort through the unknown information.
Rita feels employees and Project Managers can always improve on Communication. This is especially true for Department Heads and Project Managers. We don’t necessarily need more meetings, but we need to make sure everyone knows what kind of work needs to be done and what the expectations are. Rita saw this kind of Communication in action to improve the survey workflow. This included keeping Rita informed of the changes so she could get and distribute survey requests accurately.
Another core value important to Rita is Family. Rita’s family is everything to her, so this naturally spills over at work. She is someone people can talk to and she can help sort out problems.
