Clapsaddle-Garber Associates, Inc. (CGA) is pleased to announce they are adding GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Services with the addition of Micah Cutler, GIS Director.
CGA has been in the civil engineering and land surveying business since 1959 so they’re no stranger to offering professional services across Iowa, but GIS services will be new to them. Micah Cutler, who spent 13 years with Hardin County as their GIS Coordinator and then their IT/GIS Director, started at CGA in January as GIS Director. With the addition of Cutler, CGA will be well-positioned to hit the ground running in 2020 with any clients wishing to add GIS services to current CGA projects or start a new mapping project.
GIS services include the development of new geospatial data, as well as updating and integrating existing geospatial information, by utilizing resources such as aerial photography, engineering plans, and data collected through GPS. By investing in a GIS for your organization, elected officials, managers, staff, and the public can easily access information to make better-informed decisions and manage a wide variety of assets. Maps and data are part of today’s essential infrastructure.
CGA envisions municipalities and other businesses in Iowa could potentially use the technology to:
-Map Underground Utilities
-Construction Environmental Management Plan
-Land Development Analysis
-Storm Water Runoff
Matt Garber, CGA’s President, and CEO, said this was a “no-brainer” to add to their current service line offering. “Since we already offer survey services in-house, this was a natural next step to offer our clients the future technology they will need. More and more clients want to build and collect data as well as store it so that it’s easily accessible in the future. We want to provide them with an easy way to manage that.”
