Our engineering team’s solutions have assisted numerous Iowa communities and businesses with ponds, lakes, rivers and streams, residential and commercial flood studies, stormwater rehab programs, wetlands, flood mitigation and more!
Flood Studies & Flood Elevation Certificates
A Flood Study includes performing survey work necessary to determine if land or buildings lay in a SFHA (Special Flood Hazard Area) as determined by FEMA and shown on FIRMS (Flood Insurance Rate Maps). An elevation certificate is an official form of the National Flood Insurance Program. A survey for a Flood Elevation Certificate provides verification of the elevation data of a structure on a given property relative to the ground level. This information is used in the flood insurance rating process and could lower insurance costs. CGA has experts on staff to navigate the floodwater process.
Engineering Solutions
Our team is well-versed in working with cities, counties, architects, private developers, the Iowa DNR and Iowa Department of Transportation on planning site design, streets, urban highway, public utilities, stormwater control, streambank restoration, secondary roads, farm to market, Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) and recreational trail projects.
We are also experienced in developing comprehensive plans to propose engineering solutions to Iowa communities. We can provide an all-inclusive engineering analysis to include preliminary cost projections, identify sources of additional funding, if available, identify sub-consultants, and address any areas of concern (i.e. flooding, safety).
Our team has extensive knowledge with:
- Site Investigation/Feasibility Study
- Site Design
- Utility Engineering
- Maintenance and Repair
- Stormwater
- Water
- Management
- SWPPP
- NPDES
We can help you identify funding sources, apply for funding and help reduce flooding.
Our experience with recreational trail design, Iowa DOT specifications, Iowa DOT bid lettings, federally funded projects, NEPA environmental documentation, construction administration, working with volunteer boards, and holding Public Input Sessions means we are more than qualified to help YOU – contact us now!
