Iowa infrastructure is going to get a major boost with the recently passed legislation.
If you haven’t already seen this breakdown, here’s what’s coming to Iowa, according to the American Council of Engineering:
- $3.4 billion for federal-aid-highway
- $432 million for bridge replacement and repairs
- Iowa can compete for the $12.5 billion Bridge Investment Program for economically significant bridges
- Iowa can compete for $16 billion of national funding dedicated for major projects that will deliver substantial economic benefits to communities
- Based on formula funding Iowa would receive $305 million over five years to improve public transportation options
- $51 million over five years to support the expansion of an EV charging network
- A minimum of $100 million for broadband coverage
- $21 million over five years for natural disaster mitigation
- $15 million to protect against cyberattacks
- $638 million over five years to improve water infrastructure
- $120 million over five years to improve Iowa’s airports
