Magnum Trucking Site Design, Waterloo, Iowa
CGA provided civil engineering and land surveying services for the new Magnum Trucking Site Design located in Waterloo, Iowa. This project revolved around the design and development of a proposed industrial facility measuring approximately 70’x200’.
Highlights:
- Site Survey & Design: Developed layouts for parking, vehicular areas, sidewalks, gravel storage, water/sewer services, stormwater management, and perimeter fencing.
- Boundary & Topographic Survey: Mapped property pins and surroundings, conducted detailed topographic surveys using Total Station and GPS, and produced a digital surface model with Autodesk Civil 3d.
- Preliminary Design & Site Plan: Created draft layouts, grading plans, utility designs, stormwater designs, and prepared site plans for City review.
- Final Design & Plans: Developed annotated construction plans, and managed City runoff permits, NPDES, and SWPPP with BMPs.
The foundational layout was based on construction plans of a similar facility in Box Elder, SD. One of our key responsibilities was assisting the client with the submission of applications for the City’s CRS permit and the IDNR NPDES permit.
