CGA provided design, funding administration, construction administration and observation services for the City of Story City. In an effort to create a more walkable community, the City of Story City had committed to constructing miles of trails along the Skunk River and into a newly developed residential area. The final piece was the construction of a pedestrian bridge over the Skunk River near to connect South Park near the city’s recreation fields to Jacobson Park. This 170-foot steel truss pedestrian bridge was partially funded by Transportation Enhancement funds and an Iowa DNR REAP grant. The project also included stabilization of the river bank, PCC trail construction, and fencing. The project was designed according to the Iowa DOT project development schedule and bid. The final project was $350,000.
