Steve Troskey, Celebrating Five Years, May 2020
What is your first memory or a memorable project/experience at CGA?
Soon after starting I was asked to lay out a huge subdivision. Roads, storm-water areas, lot sizes, everything. As a planner, I work on large-scale ideas, and being asked to use my expertise immediately showed their confidence in me. Looking at the project on Google Maps knowing my fingerprints are all over the layout is rewarding.
What’s been the most rewarding part of your job?
Helping new clients navigate the approval process in the many cities we work in. Seeing an idea go from a thought, to a concept, to a real, true completed project is rewarding. Driving by project’s I’ve worked on and showing my friends and family how I was involved is a neat feeling.
What has contributed to your loyalty to CGA for so many years?
CGA provides great flexibility. One of the pillars of the company is Family, and they prove it by allowing employees to amend their work schedule as needed to attend family events.
What’s something about you that we may not know (personal or professional)?
I have a Master’s Degree in Sociology and really enjoying discussing/learning how our development style affects a city. My experience and knowledge help CGA and its clients understand the mindset of a city’s Planning Department so we can best address their potential concerns before we ever meet about a project.
